WELCOME TO SPINE20 – New York
The United States—home to world-leading research institutions, diverse communities, and a long tradition of medical innovation—stands at a pivotal moment in shaping the future of global spine health. Nowhere is this momentum more visible than in New York City, a place defined by its energy, inclusivity, and relentless drive to solve complex challenges. As we gather here, we embrace the opportunity to advance a shared mission: ensuring that every individual, regardless of geography or circumstance, has access to high-quality spine care.
We welcome you to New York City as we host the 7th Annual Summit of SPINE20, a global alliance of more than 30 partner societies dedicated to advising G20 nations on policies that reduce the burden of spine disease. Since its founding in 2019, SPINE20 has championed evidence-based strategies that strengthen healthcare systems, expand access to care, and promote healthier, more resilient communities worldwide.
The theme of SPINE20 2026, “The Spine of Global Prosperity: Innovation, Efficiency, and Access: Advancing Global Spine Care,” reflects the urgent need to align cutting-edge scientific progress with equitable, practical, and sustainable delivery models. Around the world, millions face barriers to timely diagnosis, effective treatment, and long-term rehabilitation. At the same time, rapid advances are transforming what is possible in spine care. This year’s summit calls on us to bridge these realities by ensuring that innovation is not only groundbreaking, but also accessible, efficient, and scalable across diverse healthcare settings.
Our discussions will focus on strengthening pathways that reduce delays in care, optimizing systems to improve patient outcomes, and leveraging new technologies to expand reach—especially in underserved communities. By integrating innovation with thoughtful policy and streamlined care models, we can build a future where spine health is both advanced and universally attainable.
