Eugenio Gaudio
Eugenio Gaudio was Rector of Sapienza University of Rome (2014-2020). Today he’s President of Rome Sapienza Foundation and President of Italian Higher Education with Africa Foundation.
From 2019 to 2020, he was President of Civis-A European Civic University, the new European university that brings together 400,000 students and 55,000 faculty and technical-administrative personnel.
He was born in Cosenza, Italy on September 15, 1956. He is married and has two children.
He has a degree in Medicine and Surgery obtained from Sapienza (1980) and a Masters’s Degree in Internal Medicine (1985).
From 2000, he is full Professor of Human Anatomy in Sapienza, coordinating the PhD programme in Experimental and Clinical Hepatology.
He has been President of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine and President of the Permanent Conference of Italian Faculties and Schools of Medicine and Surgery.
He is author of over 500 scientific publications on issues addressing liver structure and ultrastructure, experimental and clinical hepatology and microcirculation.
Letizia Moratti
Letizia Moratti is an Italian politician and manager. She has two degrees in Political Sciences and one in Educational and Training Sciences. She co-founded the San Patrignano Foundation. From 1994 to 1996 She has been President of RAI- Radio Televisione Italiana. From 2001 to 2006 she has been Minister for Education, University and Scientific Research in the Italian Government. From 2006 to 2011 she has been Mayor of Milan. Letizia Moratti founded and chairs the E4Impact Foundation, created to train a new generation of impact entrepreneurs in Africa. From 2016 to 2020 she has been Chairwoman of Management Board of UBI Bank and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of UBI Bank. and since January 2021 has been vice president and councilor for Welfare of the Lombardy Region

The Grand Hospitaller’s responsibilities include the offices of Minister of Health and of Social Affairs and for Humanitarian Action and for International Cooperation. He coordinates and supervises the initiatives of the Grand Priories, National Associations and other Order institutions worldwide, all of which are involved in charitable and humanitarian actions, and ensures that Christian principles of care and human dignity are respected.
